Artificial Intelligence: India holds 10th Rank

  • India ranks 10th globally with private investment of Rs 11,900 crore in AI technology, according to a UN report.
  • The US is at the top with private investment of Rs 5.7 lakh crore in AI.
  • India ranks 36th out of 170 countries in the Readiness Index for modern technologies like AI.
  • In 2022, it was 48th in this index.
  • India ranks 99th in the information and telecommunications sector, 113th in the skills-based classification, 3rd in research and development, 10th in industrial capacity, and 70th in finance.
  • The US and China have more cloud infrastructure services than any other country in the world.
  • India has expertise in nanotechnology, Germany in wind power, Japan in electric vehicles, and South Korea in 5G technology.

INS Sunayna Ship:

  • The Indian Navy’s deep sea patrol ship INS Sunayna is set to sail from Karwar under the Indian Ocean Ship – Sagar initiative.
  • The ship, which will be manned by 44 sailors from nine friendly countries, was flagged off by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh from Karwar.
  • The operation marks a significant step in strengthening India’s commitment to regional maritime security and international cooperation.

Important Facts:

  1. Indian-origin woman Vijayalakshmi Mohan, was conferred with the Cultural Heritage Award.
  2. The central government has allocated Rs 522.34 crore for Tamil Nadu as a disaster relief fund.
  3. The Quad countries of India, the US, Australia, and Japan have come together to provide $20 million in relief assistance to Myanmar.
  4. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been honoured with the Mitra Vibhushana award, the highest civilian award in Sri Lanka, by Sri Lankan President Anura Kumara Disanayaka.
