Geographical Indication for 62 items in Tamil Nadu:

• So far, 62 items have been granted Geographical Indication in Tamil Nadu.
• Currently, Kumbakonam Betel Leaf and Kanyakumari Thovalai Maanikka Malai have received Geographical Indication.
• So far, 62 items have been granted Geographical Indication in Tamil Nadu, making Tamil Nadu the second state in India to have received Geographical Indication.
• Thanjavur is the first district in the state to get a geographical indication for 11 products in Tamil Nadu.
• This is the first time that Thanjavur district has received a geographical indication for an agricultural product.
