Prime Minister’s Farmers’ Financial Assistance Scheme:

  • The Prime Minister’s Farmers’ Financial Assistance Scheme provides financial assistance of Rs 6,000 per year to all farmers.
  • The Prime Minister’s Farmers’ Financial Assistance Scheme was launched by Prime Minister Modi in 2019 with the aim of improving the rural economy, reducing farmer debt and encouraging agricultural investment.
  • Under this scheme, a total of Rs 6,000 is directly transferred to the bank accounts of farmers in 3 installments of Rs 2,000 each per year.

Constituency delimitation:

  • Articles 82 and 170 of the Constitution of India insist on the delimitation of the boundaries of the Lok Sabha and state assembly constituencies after every census.
  • An act enacted in 1952 stated that a committee called the Delimitation Commission should be constituted to re-delimit the Lok Sabha constituencies in this way.
  • The constituency should be redrawn based on the census conducted once in 10 years.
  • After this, the constituency redrawing was done in India three times based on the census conducted in 1951, 1961 and 1971.
  • If the parliamentary redrawing is done all over India, it is said that the Lok Sabha constituencies in the southern Indian states will decrease and their representation will decrease.

  • Mauritius Day is celebrated every year on March 12.

March 12: No Smoking Day.

  • To create awareness about the health effects of smoking, No Smoking Day is observed every year on the second Wednesday of March.
