SpaDex spacecraft distance reduced to 3 meters:

  • As the work of integrating the SpaDex twin spacecraft is underway, the distance between the spacecraft has been reduced to 3 meters.
  • ISRO has implemented the SpaDex research project as a pilot effort to set up an Indian research station in space by 2035.
  • The two spacecraft, SpaDex A and SpaDex B, designed for this purpose, were launched on December 30 from the launch pad in Sriharikota, Andhra Pradesh, by the PSLV C-60 rocket and placed in a circular orbit.
  • Currently, these two spacecraft are orbiting each other in the same orbit at a certain distance.
  • The distance between the two spacecraft, SpaDex A and SpaDex B, was initially reduced to 15 meters, and now, ISRO has announced that it has been reduced to 3 meters.

Jammu and Kashmir Sonmarg Tunnel:

  • Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the Sonmarg Tunnel on the Srinagar-Kargil National Highway in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.
  • The development project of this road, located at an altitude of 8,650 feet above sea level, is being carried out at a cost of Rs 2,700 crore.
  • It has been reported that once the Sonmarg Tunnel becomes operational, the transport connectivity between Srinagar-Leh will remain uninterrupted in all weather conditions.

India in UN Committee of Experts on Big Data Group:

  • India has joined the UN Expert Group on Big Data and Data Science (UN-CEBD).
  • UN-CEBD was formed to study the benefits and challenges of big data, including its ability to monitor and inform the Sustainable Development Goals.
  • India recently became a member of the UN Statistical Council.
  • At this time, India has joined the UN-CEBD group.
  • By joining the UN-CEBD group, it was stated that India will contribute to shaping global standards and practices in using big data and data science for authoritative statistical needs.

‘Viksit Bharat’ project:

  • The launch of the ‘Viksit Bharat’ project is seen as an important milestone.
