10-Point Action Plan to Strengthen India-ASEAN Relations:

  • Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced a 10-point action plan to strengthen comprehensive partnership between India and ‘ASEAN’ countries in Vientiane.
  • This year, Laos is leading the ‘ASEAN’ association, which includes Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Vietnam and Laos.
  • The 21st India-ASEAN Summit was held in Vientiane, the capital of the country.
  • Under the ASEAN-India Science Fund, the Prime Minister’s 10-point action plan includes holding a conference of women scientists, creating a routine for internet policy dialogue, launching a new mechanism for exchange of views among health ministries to build health recovery, and holding a green hydrogen workshop.
  • Pha Lak Pha Lam (Phra Lakshman Phra Ram) is the Lao adaptation of the ancient epic Ramayana

Central government bans Hizb Ut Tahrir terror outfit:

  • The central government has banned Hizb Ut Tahrir, a terrorist organization based in Beirut, Lebanon.
  • Founded in Jerusalem in 1953, the organization is currently headquartered in Beirut.
  • Its aim is to establish an Islamic state throughout the world through terrorist activities.
  • Various countries have banned this organization, which operates in 30 countries including Britain, America, Canada, Australia.
  • Now Hizb Ut Tahrir terrorist organization has been banned in India as well.

Interstellar explosion around black hole: Discovery by ISRO spacecraft

  • NASA and ISRO jointly discovered that the galaxy exploded due to the gravitational pull of the black hole.
  • X-ray images of the explosion were captured by NASA’s Chandra X-ray telescope and ISRO’s Astrosat spacecraft and have now been released.
  • Astrosat satellite was launched in 2015 by PSLV C-30 rocket for space exploration.
  • It was sent to investigate UV rays, X-rays, etc.
  • Similarly, the Chandra X-ray probe was sent by NASA in the year 1999.
  • The two spacecraft are carrying out the work of monitoring the changes occurring in the space region through the telescope structure and taking pictures and sending them to the control centre.
  • In 2019, a galaxy caught in the black hole’s gravitational pull exploded and parts of it were found to be orbiting the black hole.
  • It has now been found that another star collides with debris from an exploded star every 48 hours.
  • Chandra and Astronaut also detected X-rays emitted during this collision.

Nobel Prize for Literature: Han Kang

  • South Korean author Han Kang has been awarded the Nobel Prize for Literature.
  • Fiction writer Han Kang won the Man Booker International Prize for his novel The Vegetarian in 2007.
  • The prize has been announced for his “profound prose that depicts the great tragedies of history and the frailty of human life in poetic language.”
  • The Nobel Prize is awarded every year to those who have made achievements in the fields of medicine, physics, chemistry, economics, peace and literature.

October 11: International Day of the Girl Child

  • International Day of the Girl Child is observed on October 11 to raise voice for the rights of the girl child.

October 12: Dussehra

  • This day marks Rama’s victory over the demon king Ravana, signifying the victory of good over evil.

  5. Pakistan’s Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz called for air pollution talks with India to reduce the impact of smog.
  6. India won bronze at the Asian Table Tennis Championships, the third time in a row that the Indian men’s team has won a bronze medal in this tournament.
