4th Global Renewable Energy Investors Conference:

  • The 4th Global Renewable Energy Investors Conference was held in Gandhinagar, Gujarat.
  • Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that India is determined to build its future on the strength of renewable energy such as solar, wind, nuclear and hydropower.
  • Renewable resources include solar power, hydroelectric power, geothermal power, wind power, and biomass power.

Parliamentary Standing Committees:

  • Budgetary allocations for central ministries and bills tabled in Parliament are examined by departmental parliamentary level committees.
  • Also, the committees will recommend to the central government to formulate policies on important issues and bring bills in the parliament.
  • Most of the Standing Committees work under the Lok Sabha Secretariat and some Standing Committees under the Rajya Sabha Secretariat.
  • Parliament has 24 Standing Committees. All standing committees have 31 members.
  • Out of total 24 Standing Committees, 8 Standing Committees function under Rajya Sabha and 16 Standing Committees function under Lok Sabha.

  • World Patient Safety Day is observed on 17 September. It was established by the 72nd World Health Assembly in May 2019 following the adoption of resolution WHA72.6 on ‘Global Action on Patient Safety’.
