Pondicherry University 8th in National Ranking List:

  • Central University of Puducherry has been ranked 8th in the national ranking list.
  • The Indian Institute Ranking Framework (IIRF) ranks more than a thousand institutions across the country, including universities and specialized colleges.
  • The ranking for 2024 is based on 7 comments.
  • Concepts include employment, performance, teaching, learning resources, research, career placement and integration, employment strategies and support, future orientation, and external feedback.
  • Accordingly, Pondicherry University ranked the university 8th among the best central universities in the country.

Isolation of terrorism-supporting countries SCO conference: India

  • The 24th summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, which includes 9 countries including India, China, Russia and Pakistan, began in Astana, the capital of Kazakhstan.
  • Strict action should be taken against all types of terrorist activities like terrorist financing, extortion, cross-border terrorism.

Paris Olympics:

  • The Olympic Games will be held in Paris from July 6 to August 11.

7% of deaths in Indian cities are due to air pollution:

  • Air pollution accounts for more than 7 percent of deaths in 10 major cities in India, according to a study.
  • In the study conducted by the research team, PM 2.5, a carcinogenic particulate pollutant, was studied in the cities of Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Calcutta, Mumbai, Pune, Shimla and Varanasi.
  • Approximately 33,000 deaths per year from 2008 to 2019 may have been attributed to exposure to PM 2.5 particulates.
  • The World Health Organization has recommended a level of 60 micrograms per cubic meter in India, but it is 4 times higher, the study said.
  • The World Health Organization notes that it can cause strokes, heart disease, lung cancer and other respiratory diseases.

“Makkaludan Mudhalvar” Scheme in Rural Areas:

  • In rural areas, the Chief Minister M.K. Stalin inaugurated on July 11.
  • Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K.Stalin is going to participate in a government function to be held on July 11 at Palayampudur Government Higher Secondary School in Dharmapuri district and is going to inaugurate the ‘Makkaludan Mudhalvar’ scheme.
  • The Chief Minister inaugurated the women’s rights registration camp at Thoppur on July 24 last year.
  • Chief Minister M.K.Stalin will inaugurate the ‘Makkaludan Mudhalvar’ scheme.which is one of the important programs of the Tamil Nadu Government which seeks people to solve the grievances of the people living in rural areas and to quickly test the government’s services to the people.

Nengal Nalama (Are You Fine) Scheme:

  • Chief Minister M.K.Stalin to monitor the actions taken by the government regarding the government’s programs reaching the people and the demands of the people, he started the Nengal Nalama Scheme
  • This scheme is being implemented as a program to inform the beneficiaries under various schemes of the Government of Tamil Nadu by contacting the government department officials and people’s representatives.
  • Following this, the officials are contacting people over phone and asking if action is being taken on their complaints.

‘Sangae Muzhangu’ festival in Malaysia:

  • In Malaysia Tamilthana Sri Rudran Dance Group and Masai Sri Subramaniar Temple and Delhi Arts and Literature Council recently organized a ‘Sangae Muzhangu’ performance in Malaysia.
  • The event was presided over by Yuvanesan, Member of Parliament for Sikamad Constituency, Malaysia.
  • The General Secretary of Delhi Literary Council P. Kumar was awarded the ‘Tamilthirumakan Virudhu 2024’ in appreciation of his initiatives in Muthamizh.
  • Dhanalakshmi Rajendran, who participated in the International Women’s Day program presented online by the Delhi Arts and Literature Council, was awarded the ‘Muthamizh Artist Award’ and the ‘Aspirational Teacher’ award on the occasion of the Malaysian Teachers’ Day.

The Replica of Ayodhya Ram Temple in USA:

  • A Replica of the Ayodhya Ram Temple will be on display at the India Day Parade to be held on August 18 in New York, USA.
  • This is the first time that a replica of the Ayodhya Ram temple is on display in the United States.
  • The annual India Day Parade in New York is the largest Independence Day celebration outside India.
  • The parade will take place in New York Midtown East from 38th Street to 27th Street.
  • The replica of the Ayodhya Ram temple to be placed on parade is 18 feet long and 8 feet high.
