Tamil Nadu tops in industries, employment:
- According to NITI Aayog statistics, Tamil Nadu is at the top in having more industries and providing more employment in the assessment report on industries for the financial year 2022-23.
- Maharashtra ranks first in terms of value addition, followed by Gujarat and Tamil Nadu in second and third positions respectively.
- These states also contribute more than 54 percent of the country’s total value-added-based gross output, the report said.
- Among these states, Tamil Nadu tops the list of states that have provided employment to the largest number of people.
- Among these states, Tamil Nadu is at the top in the list of states with the highest number of industries.
Disaster Fund of Rs 5,858 crore to 14 states:
- The Union Home Ministry released a disaster fund of Rs 5,858.6 crore to 14 flood-affected states.
- This fund has been released as the central share of the State Disaster Relief Fund and as an advance of the Central Disaster Relief Fund.
- Tamil Nadu State Disaster Management Authority is a government agency, established in 2003.
- It is responsible for disaster management, planning and recovery.
- On 8 July 2003 the Government of Tamil Nadu issued an ordinance to set up a State Disaster Management Authority under the Department of Revenue.
- The Department shall be headed by the Chief Secretary and shall assist in disaster preparedness, mitigation and response.

Dadasaheb Phalke Lifetime Achievement Award for Actor Mithun Chakraborty:
- The Dada Saheb Phalke Lifetime Achievement Award, the highest award in the film industry, has been announced for the year 2022 for popular actor Mithun Chakraborty.
- The award was established in 1969, the birth centenary of Dada Saheb Phalke, who is hailed as the father of the film industry, and is presented every year consecutively along with the National Film Awards.

Discovery of Jars Near Marandahalli, Dharmapuri District:
- Ancient clay jars were found near Marandahalli, Dharmapuri district.
- In the excavations being carried out in the areas of Pangunatham and Perumbalai in Dharmapuri district, evidences have been found that people have been living here since 3000 years ago.
- Earlier, Ancient human skulls have been found in Rasikkuttai.
- Excavations in Sennanur, Krishnagiri district have found pottery inscribed with Ancient Tamil letters.
