USA: India Day Parade:
- The Federation of Indian Organizations said that the Ayodhya Ram Temple decoration will be included in the India Day parade to be held in the Manhattan area of the United States.
- The 42nd India Day celebrations to commemorate India’s Independence Day will be held on August 18 at New York’s famous Madison Street.
- Indian actor Pankaj Tripathi will be the guest of honour.
- This year’s parade will feature an 18-feet long, 9-feet wide and 8-feet high replica of the Ayodhya Ram temple.
- It will be a powerful symbol of cultural significance and a historical testament to Indian society,” said the FIA.
Modi invites Austrian companies to invest in India:
- Prime Minister Modi arrived in the Austrian capital Vienna, the first time an Indian Prime Minister has visited Austria in 41 years.
- Prime Minister Modi, Austrian President Karl Nehammer and the two countries discussed the potential for partnership in a wide range of sectors, including infrastructure, renewable energy, green space, new technologies, entrepreneurship and innovation.
- The innovation industry linkage program between the two countries was held in February 2024.
Vellore Sepoy Mutiny:
- The Vellore Sepoy Mutiny began on 10 July 1806 against British oppressive rule.
- South Indian troops belonging to the Madras Regiment in the Vellore fort erupted in mutiny.
- A British Army officer ordered that Indian troops were prohibited from wearing religious marks on their foreheads while on duty, and Muslims were required to shave their beards and trim their moustaches and wear European military uniforms.
- Soldiers were ordered to wear a European-style tubular cap with a leather strap.
- So the troops there got angry and erupted.
- The Vellore Mutiny or Vellore Revolution took place on 10 July 1806 and was the first large-scale and violent mutiny by Indian soldiers against the East India Company half a century before the Indian Rebellion of 1857.
Tamil Nadu State Commission for Women:
- On behalf of Tamil Nadu State Women’s Commission, a seminar on Women’s Safety and Empowerment was held under the chairmanship of Tamil Nadu State Women’s Commission President A.S. Kumari.
- The Tamil Nadu State Commission for Women is a statutory body established in 1993 to deal with issues related to crimes against women in Tamil Nadu.
- The Tamil Nadu State Women’s Commission was formed to inquire into specific problems related to women and to study the problems related to women in the state.
- The Commission has powers to protect the rights of women against any harassment and problems faced in the family and society and to ensure the safety and equality of women.
- The Tamil Nadu State Commission for Women was constituted with a Chairperson and a maximum of 5 members.
- The Social Welfare Department of the State formulates the procedure for appointing the Chairperson of the State Women’s Commission.
- AS Kumari is the Chairperson of the Tamil Nadu State Commission for Women.

‘People First’ Scheme:
- On July 11 Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K.Stalin will inaugurate the project ‘Makkaludan Mudhalvar’ in the rural area at Dharmapuri.
- Tamil Nadu Government’s ‘People First’ program was implemented in Nagpur.
- The scheme is currently being expanded and launched for the people in the rural areas.
- The inauguration ceremony of this project is going to be held at Palayampudur Government Higher Secondary School campus near Nallampalli, Dharmapuri district.
- The Chief Minister is going to announce various new development schemes based on the long-standing demands of the farmers and public of Dharmapuri district.

3000 year old stone slabs found in Sivagiri excavations:
- 3000-year-old stone tablets and the base of a pot have been found in the ongoing excavations in Tirumalapuram near Sivagiri in Tenkasi district.
- They are 2500 to 3000 years old and their length is 100 cm. First 150 cm. The width of the drawing is 10 cm to 15 cm.
- In 2021, when soil was taken, archaeological remains were found at a depth of 4 feet.
