Tea Exports: India ranked 3rd Place

  • India, which was ranked fourth in the world in tea exports, moved up to third place in 2024.
  • China is the largest tea exporter in the world.
  • It accounts for 45% of the total tea exports.
  • The total export value of China’s tea exports is US$ 1,739 million.
  • It is followed by Kenya and Sri Lanka.
  • Assam is the largest tea producing state in India.
  • More than 50% of the tea production comes from Assam.

Vikram-1 Rocket Test:

  • India’s private space agency Skyroot’s Aerospace has successfully conducted a static fire test of the Kalam-100 engine that powers the third stage of its Vikram-1 launch vehicle.
  • This demonstrated the engine’s ability to generate 100 kN of peak vacuum thrust at a 60 operating area ratio in flight.
  • The Vikram-1 rocket is designed to carry a payload of 480 kilograms to a low-inclination orbit of 500 kilometers.
