- Over 68 lakh people have been treated for cancer under the Prime Minister’s Health Insurance Scheme.
- Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB PM-JAY) is a health insurance scheme that is part of the National Health Policy of the Government of India.
- Its objective is to provide free secondary and tertiary care to the economically weaker sections of the population, including the poorest 40% of the population.
- The scheme is the largest, fully government-funded health insurance scheme in the world.
- The scheme provides medical insurance coverage of up to Rs 5 lakh per family per year through government and private hospitals.
Joint exercise between India and France: Varuna
- The joint exercise between the navies of the two countries is being held from March 19 to 22 to strengthen the long-standing maritime relations between India and France.
