Tiger Reserves in the country increase to 58:
- With the newly declared Madhav Tiger Reserve in Madhya Pradesh, the number of tiger reserves in the country has increased to 58.
- Union Environment Minister Bhupendra Yadav declared Madhav National Park in Shivpuri district of Madhya Pradesh as the 58th tiger reserve in the country.
- Tiger reserves in India were set up as part of the Tiger Conservation Programme launched in 1973.
- They are managed by the National Tiger Conservation Authority of the Government of India.
India-Kyrgyzstan Joint Special Forces Exercise:
- The 12th edition of the India-Kyrgyzstan Joint Special Forces Exercise KHANJAR-XII is scheduled to be held in Kyrgyzstan from March 10 to March 23.
- Since its inception in 2011, Ex KHANJAR XII has become an annual training event.
- The Indian Army contingent has departed for the India-Kyrgyzstan joint special forces exercise ‘Kanjar-XII’.
- The last edition of the same exercise was held in India in January 2024.
March 10: CISF Raising Day.
- India celebrates CISF Raising Day every year on March 10 to honour the Indian Central Industrial Security Forces (CISF).
- This year marks its 56th Raising Day.
