The United Nations Security Council (UNSC), established in 1945, is one of the five principal organs of the UN.
It is responsible for maintaining international peace and security, admitting new UN members, and approving amendments to the UN Charter.
The UNSC is the only UN body with the authority to issue binding resolutions to member states.
The Security Council consists of both permanent and non-permanent members, with a total of 15 members—5 permanent and 10 non-permanent.
UDAN Aviation Scheme:
This is a regional airport development program of the Indian government aimed at improving underserved air routes.
The Regional Connectivity Scheme (RCS) includes setting up greenfield airports and upgrading brownfield airports.
The UDAN scheme was launched on October 21, 2016, to connect unserved regions with air travel facilities.
Namo Drone Didi Scheme:
Under this scheme, 44 women in Tamil Nadu have received drones.
The initiative provides drones to women-led self-help groups (SHGs) for spraying pesticides and fertilizers.
The Indian government plans to distribute 15,000 drones to women’s SHGs over three years (2023-24 to 2025-26) to promote sustainable business and livelihoods.
A total of 500 drones have been distributed under the Namo Drone Didi scheme, including the 44 drones in Tamil Nadu.
