Health sector projects at Rs 12,850 crore:
- Prime Minister Narendra Modi is launching various schemes worth Rs 12,850 crore to improve health infrastructure.
- Among the major health infrastructure projects, health care coverage is being extended to all senior citizens aged 70 years and above under the Ayushman Bharat scheme.
- Drone service is also being used in 11 sub-health institutions.
- The Prime Minister also inaugurates U’s platform to digitize the vaccination process for pregnant women and children.
- Prime Minister inaugurates Central Drug Testing Laboratory at Gothapatna, Bhubaneswar, Odisha.
- The Prime Minister will lay foundation stones for ‘Yoga and naturopathy research institutes’ at khordha in Odisha and Raipur in Chhattisgarh.
- The Prime Minister will also launch 5 projects to manufacture many high-quality medical devices including medicines and intensive care equipment.
- Medical device and drug manufacturing projects are being launched in Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Vapi in Gujarat, Kakinada in Andhra Pradesh and Nalagarh in Himachal Pradesh.
‘Dyslexia’ Awareness:
- To raise awareness about learning disability (dyslexia) across the country, the President’s House, Parliament House and India Gate in Delhi were lit up in red.
- This was organized on behalf of ‘ChangeInkk’ Foundation.
- It is predicted that 20 percent of the country’s population, including 3.5 crore students, may be affected by learning disabilities.
- Also Bihar Capital Patna, Jharkhand Capital Ranchi, Rajasthan Capital Jaipur, Nagaland Capital Kohima, Himachal Pradesh Capital Shimla, Maharashtra Capital Mumbai have conducted similar vigilance activities.
Tata Aircraft Manufacturing Plant: India – Spain
- Prime Minister Modi and Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez jointly inaugurated the Tata Aircraft Manufacturing Plant in Gujarat, which manufactures Indian military aircraft.
- The plant, inaugurated in Vadodara, Gujarat, is the first private aircraft manufacturing plant in the country to manufacture aircraft for the Indian Army.
- Prime Minister Narendra Modi had laid the foundation stone for the construction of this institute in 2022.
‘Padam Pathukaapom’ Scheme:
- An ordinance has been issued to start the ‘Padam Pathukaapom’ program for diabetes patients in all medical college hospitals and government hospitals in Tamil Nadu.
- The ‘Padam Pathukaapom’ program aims to prevent diabetic foot damage and foot loss.
- The scheme is structured under the People Seeking Medicine scheme and plans to provide integrated podiatry services through 36 Government Medical College Hospitals.
- This is the first time that the government has taken such initiative in the country.
- More than ten crore patients are suffering from diabetes in India.
- 80 lakh people are suffering from diabetes in Tamil Nadu.
- Diabetics will be diagnosed and treated for foot ulcers and blood vessel blockages.
- This program has been implemented in Thanjavur district and so far 1.65 lakh people have been diagnosed with foot disease.
- Following that, the scheme will now be expanded to the entire state.
