India’s first overseas Jan Aushadhi Kendra inaugurated in Mauritius:
- India’s first overseas Jan Aushadhi Kendra inaugurated in Mauritius by Union External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar in Mauritius.
- Jan Aushadhi Kendra has been opened in the country as an example of close cooperation between India and Mauritius, especially in the health sector.
- The ‘Central Government People’s Pharmacy’ was launched in 2008 to ensure access to affordable medicines for all.
- The scheme was upgraded in 2015 after Narendra Modi took over as Prime Minister, and now around 10,000 people’s dispensaries are functioning across the country.
Opening of Indian Funded Hospital:
- Minister Jaishankar along with Pratham Jugnauth inaugurated a hospital built with Indian funding at Grand Bois, Mauritius with modern facilities.

- Mahadevan, Kotiswar Singh sworn in as Supreme Court Judges:
- Mahadevan and N. Kodiswar Singh were sworn in as judges of the Supreme Court. Subsequently, the Supreme Court reached its full strength of 34 judges.
- The Supreme Court collegium recommended the appointment of R. Mahadevan, who was the acting Chief Justice of the Madras High Court, Jammu and Kashmir and N. Kotiswar Singh, who was the Chief Justice of the Ladakh High Court.
- Accordingly, the President appointed both of them as judges of the Supreme Court.
- The total number of judges sanctioned including the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court is 34.

32nd meeting of Cauvery Water Regulation Committee
- The 32nd meeting of the Cauvery Water Regulation Committee will be convened on July 24, the commission said.
- The Cauvery Water Regulation Committee (CWRC) has recommended release of 1 TMC water daily to Tamil Nadu from 12th July to 31st July at Biligundlu in Cauvery.
- The Central Government has set up the Cauvery Water Management Authority (CMA) to solve the problems related to the sharing of Cauvery water between the states of Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Kerala and Puducherry.
- The Cauvery Water Management Authority was set up by the Central Government on June 1, 2018, using the powers conferred by Section 6A of the Inter-State Water Resources Act, 1956.
- The Cauvery River Commission consists of a Chairman, eight members and a Secretary.
European Union:
